Choate Law Firm, PLLC is based in Searcy, Arkansas and serves Lonoke, White, Pulaski, Independence, Cleburne, and Jackson counties. At our firm, we pride ourselves on delivering comprehensive legal services tailored to meet the diverse needs of our clients. With a team of experienced attorneys, we handle a wide range of practice areas, including civil litigation, family law, estate planning, and personal injury. Leading the firm is Penny Choate, a seasoned attorney who founded Choate Law Firm, PLLC in 2004. With decades of experience in both federal and state trial practices, Penny is dedicated to guiding clients through complex legal matters with skill and compassion.
Our team also includes Colbie M. Harsson and Haden Grace Majors, both bringing unique strengths to the firm. Colbie, an attorney since 2011, has extensive experience in both civil litigation and criminal prosecution, which she now applies in her work with family law and probate. Haden, admitted to the bar in 2023, is a certified mediator and focuses on estate planning, guardianships, and family law. About Me:
In addition to the practice of law, my passions are my family, golf and competing in equestrian events in western reining, pleasure and English hunter-under-saddle throughout the U.S.  I established Choate Law Firm, PLLC on January 16, 2004 in Little Rock.  Eventually, I moved the firm to Searcy where we serve clients from the central Arkansas region as well as our out-of-state clients. The practice of law is truly my calling and I thoroughly enjoy representing my clients in complex legal issues.

Background and Experience:
I was employed as the Director of Public Relations at ASU-Beebe for approximately seven years while I attended law school in the evenings. I received my bar license in 2011 and worked at Choate Law Firm from 2012-2014. I accepted a position as deputy prosecuting attorney in 2014 at the 17th Judicial District which is White and Prairie Counties. I became the Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in 2018 until October 2020.  I accepted a position back at Choate Law Firm in October 2020. During my time at the prosecutor’s office in the 17th I also worked as a special prosecutor for the United States District Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of Arkansas where I handled gun prosecutions. In January 2023 I began prosecuting part-time in Jackson County which is part of the 3rd Judicial District.
About Me:
I am married and have four children ages 15-5 which keeps me busy. I am involved in our church and my children’s school. I love watching them play volleyball, softball, basketball, t-ball. When we aren’t playing sports, we enjoy going to the lake or the river and spending time as a family.

About Me:

I am from Cabot, Arkansas and graduated from the University of Central Arkansas Summa Cum Laude. From a young age, I knew I wanted to be a lawyer. I attended UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law. During law school, I was a member of the Bowen Trial Team and served as the treasurer for Phi Alpha Delta. My professional journey led me to Choate Law Firm in 2019, where I began to develop a passion for family law. I joined the firm as an attorney in 2024. I enjoy spending time with my family, watching the Razorbacks, and going to Greers Ferry Lake.
